I lived in Northern Cali 3 years and only 'felt' one earthquake. Basically, the hanging light over our dining room swayed a bit.

There was a larger one but I was in the car - didn't even notice.

That's awesome. I've always wanted to feel a real earthquake. A few years back, I was woken in the middle of the night cause I dreamt the house was shaking. Turns out, it was an earthquake (in Illinois!).

Growing up in California, I was pretty nonchalant about earthquakes. After the Northridge and San Francisco quakes happened, everyone's awareness grew for a bit before returning back to baseline. Glad your experience was a minimal one!

A few years back I woke up in the middle of the nite because our wood blinds were knocking against the windows. We had felt an earthquake that happened between Yuma and San Diego all the way in Chandler, AZ.
