Funny Foto Friday: Run Faster & 5 min beer mile

Thanks everyone for your feedback on my argument with the cop.  Leave it to my buddy IronChad to actually do the leg work and research what the law says.  As is usually the case, I was wrong. Pedestrians, regardless of how schvelt they look while running shirtless (Can you believe that!?), must stop and press the "walk" button before crossing a street.  I guess I'm lucky I didn't get a ticket.  Although - cop would have had to catch me! (Which... I mean.... he would have... He had a car... I'm not superman)

Throughout running some 16 marathons, I've seen a lot of funny signs along the way.  In fact, I've actually created a few.  Some of the best are "worst parade ever" and "you're kicking ass-falt".  Anyway, not to be outdone, this guy sets the bar really high.... Or, really low, depending on your perspective.  Oh yes, I will be doing this some day.  Happy Friday!

I dunno.. The guy looks pretty built - I might slow down just to call his bluff

BONUS!!!  I recently was pointed to a video of Nick Symmonds on TMZ, American 5th place Olympic finisher in the 800m.  (Read: he is freaking fast)  The reason why the video was on TMZ and not FlowTrack?  Nick is doing the beer mile.

A beer mile is drinking a beer, running 400m, drinking another beer, 400m, beer, 400m, beer, 409m.  Yes, 4 beers, one mile.  He did it in 5:20.  Yes, he drank 4 beers and ran a mile in FIVE MIN TWENTY SECONDS.  (Goto the link above to watch the full video)

The worst part??  Dude is funny (if not a little cocky)

Attractive

And a freaking all American Olympian.

Dude, seriously.  You gotta slow down, you're making us all look bad.  Happy Friday!

That guy is so, so pretty.

Our run group coache was slobbering over this beer mile. He puts on a bar-a-thon (6 beers, 6.2 miles) himself so this is kind of his thing.

Liked the beer mile video. I don't think I could drink 4 beers in 5 minutes without running :-).

One of my favorite race signs is "run like her husband just got home" :).

And now I plan on doing my own beer mile. I am guesstimating that my time will be a little bit longer then 5 minutes.

Yeah, but it's cheap beer. When he drinks four Dogfish Head 120 IPAs, then I'll be impressed.

You and Nick have inspired me. I'm hereby devoting my weekend to perfecting the beer mile. bonus: my kids are great with a stopwatch!

Haha love it! I would probably vomit doing a beer mile.

OK, forget about the mile, give me the beer and OH I will take that shirtless guy also. :)

If I chugged 2 beers that fast I could pass out in 5:15.

Someone should now combine Smirnoff Ice with running. 5K with "icing" at every drink stop? You also have to get down on one knee too. May the best man win. Without vomiting.

That beer run sounds almost as bad as the Krispy Kreme challenge. Bleck. I would definitely throw up! Props to him.

In the UK or team does beer miles a LOT (we call them chunder miles... for a good reason). And yeah with that shirtless man I would have started meandering past him. Then probably looked back too. Im shameless.

Amazing on Symmonds running a 5:20 beer mile! I've only done a beer mile once, and got 14:20, it was one of the worst experiences ever because it makes you so full lol. I checked the official beer mile website, and he just ran the #4 all time best time or something haha

Do you know who has the first official DNF in the Arizona Beer Mile? Yep, I do. First person ever. Me. I was ready to throw up after 1.5 beers and happily took my DNF. The second person....my brother.
