Funny Foto Friday: Post-Holiday Thoughts

Well, the holiday season is all but wrapped up.  The Christmas trees are put away and, based on what my bathroom scale says, the last 2 weeks were approximately 10,000 more calories than I needed.  Ho, Ho, Ho!!!

My wife always complains that I can't hear.  The truth is, I really can't hear that well sometimes (thanks a bunch 1200 watt car stereo in High School).   During the holiday season, I was put in lots of situations when I couldn't hear what the heck people said....

For Christmas, my son received a bunch of magnets for the fridge to play with.  He LOVES them.  Unfortunately, while stumbling around at 4:30am trying to fill my water bottle to run, I've stepped on them more than once.

Finally, since the birth of my son, my wife and I have had to make a few adjustments in our holiday decorations.  We always start out with the best of intentions to keep everything the same, but inevitably we always have to change something.  Can you tell what we changed in this picture?  Happy Friday!

When I can't hear someone I just nod my head and smile.

When our son became mobile we put our tree on the table. Smaller tree, but less chance of catastrophe! It's been there ever since.

Good idea with the ornaments! I could have used that when the dogs were puppies! Happy New Year!

Love the improvisation.
Sorry about your foot. Those innocent toys hurt!

My tree has a very similar vibe ... except it isn't because of a human - I started finding ornaments with little cat teeth marks in them!

Love that last picture...so true. I have not great hearing and worse attention, so I'll usually ask once or twice and then go with smile and nod. I'm sure I've agreed to all kinds of crazy things because I don't listen.

In high school someone got me a keychain that said "I have no clue what your saying so I just smile and nod" lol ;)
Our Christmas tree tends to stay up til Jan. 2nd and it usually lasts that long, but somehow this year, we got a dud...
the tree is almost naked and all the needles are piled up on the floor lol...

My tree looks the same! I also smile and nod, and sometimes even say things like "yeah", "that's crazy", and "interesting".

Ha! Just wait til you step on some Lego or a hot wheel in the middle of the night....it's gonna make those magnets look like cotton balls!
