Funny Foto Friday: Mom and Dad on Facebook

This weekend, I'm traveling to Minneapolis and officially becoming a certified running coach.  For 16 hours, I'll be nerding it up with 30 other running obsessed runnerds.  It will be GLORIOUS.  Lactate Threshold and Vo2 max talk will abound - I'm going to try to steer the conversation to runners trots as much as I can.  I'll take pictures of everyone's horrified looks.

It couldn't be a better time to get away and go north.  The weather is supposed to be 30 degrees cooler and my running is hitting a good stride.  Yesterday I ran 5 recovery miles in 38 minutes and today I ran 12 miles with an overall pace of 7:50.  I'm going to run 18 miles, dodging mosquitoes the size of small cats, probably along an interstate because I am lazy and am not sure that I am going to rent a car. If you see a guy panting running along I-35, give a honk and splash some water on him.  That's me, covered in bug bites.

Finally, the funny foto Friday for this week.  There are some places that you can hide and speak your thoughts to your friends without fear of retribution or ridicule.  But, like all good things The Band 98 Degrees it had to come to an end. You knew it was bound to happen eventually:  Facebook gets popular enough that even mom and dad on on there.  The results?  Hilarity.  Happy Friday!

"I'll be coming back Weds at whenever-the-airlines-feel-like-it-o'clock"

Signs that it is the 21st century.  Finding out you're a dad on facebook.
When I first saw this I think I choked on my water from laughing so hard and like 2 drops of pee came out.  The more I read it, the more funny it gets.

See, I don't see why this guy's dad is giving him such a hard time. He just wanted to share his positive results on a product he was trying.  I do that all the time on my blog!

BEST IDEA EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know, that Marley and Me is a good movie no matter how you slice it.

Finally Facebook is good for something.

I'll bet there will be some fun group runs before class, huh?

If its "official" does that mean I have to start paying you? double crap.

Have fun at the class. I really enjoyed mine, though it wasn't what I thought it would be. If you have Janet Hamilton, she *will* laugh at your potty jokes. Most of the jokes in my class was about dudes running to impress chicks.

Facebook humor is almost as good as damnyouautocorrect.com but not quite!!!

I freaking LOVE that last one. They're all great, though. My mom isn't on facebook, nor is my husband (yet another tech-phobe in the family); however, I've spent countless (fruitless) hours attempting to tutor my aunt on such things as the difference between posting on someone else's wall and your own status.

And, yeah, I've been known to chime in on my teenage sons' and nieces' facebook posts. Granted, it's probably just made them get sneakier, but at least they aren't posting stupid sh** on facebook.

LOL @ the facebook fails.

I've only been to Minneapolis once, for work, but it seemed like a very nice city for running.

I didn't have a lot of time to explore, but got about 8 cool, rainy (sounds heavenly now) miles in on paths along the river and Nicollete Island. Have fun.

Wow, that was the laugh needed after a very stressful week. Don't smile in your run this weekend, but if you do, make sure you bring floss for the bugs!

Oh man! LOL... the chicken casserole killed me! Thanks for posting that!

Oh dear lord, the casserole was the best!! I bet you can't wait until Hayden is your age and you pop on the "next big thing" and embarrass him! :)

Have a great time in training! I thought that class was kinda lame-ish, but did learn some cools things.

There's a reason why I stay away from Facebook. It was much better when you had to have a college email account.
