Funny Foto Friday: Puppies Running and Veins

Today was a rest day.  Boy, did I need it.  Last night, as I was thinking about how awesome my rest day is going to be (full wine glass in hand), I got to thinking about which comes first: The rest day or the 3 glasses of wine I have before the rest day.  Chicken? Or egg?  You see, on Thursday, I had a killer track workout where I pushed a little too hard and sweat more than a hooker in church.  I'll recap the (epic) run more in a later post.

This week's funny foto friday isn't so much funny as it is cute followed by disgusting.  Hopefully it will even out. Sort of like a frozen burrito that is burnt on the outside and ice cold in the middle.  On average, it is cooked perfectly!!

So, I'm not sure why this is funny to me, but it is.  Although, when I think about it, 90% of things that you put in slow motion are pretty funny to laugh at.  Basset Hounds running are certainly no exception.  I have to think that while running I'd have a little bit of Basset Hound shake to me too.  More can be found here!

Finally, veins.  The Tour De France is going on right now.  Or, at least I assume it is.  I haven't been able to find any decent coverage on TV amongst all of the reality TV and murder trial coverage.

There is one thing that is certain: professional sports are hard on your body - no matter how careful you are or how much you dope.  The best example? Georgie Hincapie's legs. (Sent to me by IronChad) After thousands and thousands of miles in the saddle, dude has some SERIOUS varicose veins going on.  Either that, or he has a brain growing inside of his leg.   Happy Friday!

No one is ever allowed to complain about varicose veins ever again
Now, who is hungry?

Don't forget to enter my FREE $100 value Brooks shoe giveaway from OnlineShoes.com!  Not doing so would basically be like setting $100 on fire or letting your dog eat $100 and not going through the work to sort through his poop to dig it out.

The dogs are adorable. I hope my jiggle looks that cute when I run! LOL, Wow, those legs are bad! There are no words for me to express how I feel about the leg brain!!!

Wow... I've never seen anything like that... Ever. And hope I never see anything like that again.

I'd seen that shot of Hincapie's leg before... and you just brought back all those memories (well, it was only like a day ago, but still).
My question is... how?? WHYYYYY??? Why did that happen??

Big George's legs don't really look like that... do they?? I'll have to check it out wen he comes here for the Tour of Utah.
P.S. I met Bob Roll last summer, and Axel Merckx... and some really young guys that I can't remember their names now.

Bleeeeeeeech! As a former Bassett owner, I very much started out enjoying this post and then everything went to crap. I'm not sure how much of my life I just gave up looking at that horror, but I couldn't look away. Scared for life..scared...

Those aren't veins. that is a brain inside the skin of a leg. you should never transition so quickly from cute puppy jowls to brains in legs. gross.

Those dogs: AWESOME. Love the one that looks bemused that it's face is flying off...

The leg: first instinct was to gag a little. Like a car wreck I just couldn't look away. Second viewing was to wonder how his intestines fell into his leg. Third thought was why the hell they don't wear compression sleeves. I've gotten over the ick-factor of it and now I just think it's cool that the body can do that.

LOL at the dogs, but had to put off lunch after seeing leg brains. Ew.

Those veins look painful!!! Ummm yeah and I'm pretty sure that is how I look when I run....like the dogs I mean!

His leg looks like Krang from the old Ninja Turtle cartoons.

Also, I kind of puked in my mouth a little. BUT I CANNOT LOOK AWAY.

Come on, Adam! I only post like once a week, but when I do, it's worthwhile information. If you had read my recent post about the Tour de France, you would know that it is televised heavily on Versus.

That Hincapie leg freaks me the hell out though. Nastayyyyyyy.

that leg is cray-cray.

Love the basset hounds but the last one looks like he's heading for someone's jugular. He has a slightly manic look in his eyes. But seeing as he's got such stumpy legs I guess it'd be more like the femoral artery of a midget.

leg picture is so nasty! Ugg.

I will tell you with 100% confidence that the leg-brains are the result of vascular damage from performance enhancing drugs. Period. You can quote me.

I kind of want to squish those leg veins with my fingers.

Gah, I almost forwarded that picture of the tour de france guy's leg to you...I knew you'd appreciate it!

Slow motion is hilarious. Have you watched the latest Jackass movies? They show people getting hit in the face in slo-mo and it kills me every time. Especially the fat guy.

Hmmmmh, not sure if I have a comment. I'm not really a dog guy or a huge gross vein guy. I got nothing Adam. Sorry.

I LOVE the basset hounds. Wow. I think I may even link to that from my FB page.

Having veins like that can't be very healthy.

I need to get out there and do track work too.
