Funny Foto Friday: Baby Shower

This past weekend, my wife’s cousins threw her a baby shower. While the concept of a baby shower seems a little strange to me (same with wedding showers and receptions), with the list of baby things that we “need” never ending I am forever grateful for everything we’ve received.

When she came home with all of the loot, I immediately put it together and decided that I needed to make sure that it all worked properly. Since I didn’t have a real live human baby to experiment with, I wanted to use something that was basically the same size and weight. I think you’ll see that I made a very good substitution. Happy Friday!

Me and my babies along with the stroller. Worked like a charm.
(Note the normal smile in this picture!!)

I didn’t keep the bottles in the vibrating bouncer too long. Don’t want to stir up any sediment.

The diaper genie I’m afraid will get more action than I will for months and months to come.

Finally, since I don’t post pictures of her nearly enough, here is a picture of my wife and I in a pregnancy picture we took. I’ll pause for your ohh-ing and ahh-ing.

Great pics! I love the baby's rooms, adorable (from what I can see).

Next piece of advice: buy THICK t shirts with regular crew collars. Why? Because you are a fainter and so that means you will probably be a gagger. The shirt is handy to pull up over your face when changing the baby. Also a stick of vicks nasal, will provide a nice solid barrier to the smell. I got nothing to help you with the sight tho... Good luck.

Looks like you guys scored some great loot at the shower!

Action? Yeah, not only will you be too tired for action, but your wife will probably have a "closed for business" sign on that thing for while (at least I would if I were her).

You guys looks awesome in that pic, your wife looks great for being less then a month out, I had jowls bigger then Nixon's by the time I was that far along.

Good luck this weekend at SA! I haven't been commenting much lately (stupid work has me busy), but I've still been lurking!

What a cute room :) I remember when my kids rooms were clean like that ..... thanks for the memory.

P.S. Diapers still stink even when in diaper genie but you can find that out for yourself, that's part of the fun.

Ahh yes, the Diaper Genie. This shit sausage maker is a marketers dream. Listen well to Adrienne's post and save up your Frys bags. Great photo of you two!

Looks like you're all set! That vibrating bouncy chair was more valuable than gold in this house.

Adam! I love that picture of you and Tiffany. You are such a beautiful couple.

Ha. Love the wine babies :)

Oh yeah, the WORST is when the Diaper Genie runs out of sausage tube as you stick a diaper in and you end up with OLD shitty diapers to deal with... makes me gag remembering...

Your wife (surely she has a name?) is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! As a mom of 4 (3 birthed at home) I can totally see the glow. She is just gorgeous!

FYI, breastmilk poop smells somewhat sweet but any upchuck (and you can't avoid that) is always curdled and oofy. But once you add anything but breastmilk to the baby gut, it comes out foul smelling.

oh, and for the unsolicited advice, stay at home as long as you can before going to the hospital (I assume she is birthing there), use a sling, breastfeed, sleep with your baby (cheap and so much easier for night feeding) and remember the first one is a guinea pig. That's why you have do-overs (oops, I mean MORE kids). :)

You are tagged! One of my readers Tagged me, and Now I am tagging you -- Have fun.

Here are your questions:
1) Where would you like to run most in the world?
2) Who would you like to run with the most? Living or dead. Why?
3) What is the one song on your I-pod that you really don't want anyone to know that you love. Mine was Whataya Want from Me -- Adam Lambert
4) Looking back at 2010 so far...what are you most proud of?

Yes, you guys look very cute!! Great baby shower gifts! You will get way too familiar with that diaper genie, though. A tip- just know that the diaper genie will reduce the smell (compared to an open pail or trash can)...not eliminate it, unfortunately.

Great picture of you and your wife! Time is drawing close Adam....

Once again, it must be asked how you landed such a sweet (and likely innocent) woman?

That diaper genie will be your best friend in the world. We went cheap and got a regular trash can. I have to hold my breath for a solid minute every time I change the trash. It's bad.

So basically you are not drinking, but still obsessing over alcohol by pretending it is your baby? Hmmm.
