Intervals and 17 weeks pregs

New feet
On Monday, I had the day off for the 4th of July holiday. My wife, however did not. She had picked up some babysitting jobs during the summer and needed to put out a big bowl of food, and a big bowl of water watch ‘em. So, what does a guy do when he has the day free? Doesn’t put on pants that is for sure. He goes out and buys a new pair of Brooks (from RunningLaur)! Behold the Green Silence. They are all green in a hippy-ish way being made out of renewable materials. Honestly though, they could be made out of crushed up baby seal eyes for all I care – as long as they make me fast. A review is soon to come.

Fast Feet
On Tuesday I had my first intervals session of this training cycle. I did 12x400 in 3 sets of 4. I won’t bore you with the details of each interval (but did on Daily Mile) but they averaged out to be exactly 6:00 pace. A bit faster than I wanted, but still a very solid effort. I HATE the pain that intervals cause, but I like the fast times I get to put in my log and the cool maps that they create:

Blogger Woes
Yesterday my blog hosting site, Blogger, was having ALL sorts of issues. My posts and the comments weren’t showing up for hours after I posted them. Gosh, if you can’t trust a 100% free service with no advertisements, no Viagra junk mail messages, or no promises of African fortunes from kings, what CAN you trust?

Baby Time
Finally, since I know that you were wondering, here is a picture of my wife at 17 weeks. I’m proud to say that I haven’t even had one anxiety induced episode at the thought of having a baby. But, I've got the paper bag to breath into on standby.

Aren't baby seal eyes part of the minimalist running movement?

Now we need a combo picture of you, wearing the new shoes, running intervals, while breathing into the paper bag, and eating crushed baby seal eyes. kthx.

Babies give me the heebiejeebies.

Awwww, the wife's looking good with the bump :). Those shoes DO make you fast. I love 400's, I once did 20 just to say I did, cuz I'm just a little weird like that.

You WILL have panic attacks. And keep up on your sleep, god knows you'll need it. Also, rub her feet. You can use that until the day you die as + points.

Sweet intervals! What a nice picture of your wife, and the fact that she is still smiling at this point is a good sign! Enjoy the pregnancy, the time will go by fast : )

Scott Jurek used those green silence for his US recond in the 24hours. He went 166 miles in 24hours and said they stood up fine!

Babies are a marathon interspersed with a lot of 100 yard dashes. And the most amazing thing is we all love them. And to think we were never such a pain to our parents. :)

Have to say I've found this comment section even more amusing than your post :) I like your people

I know this is a running blog but you should have lead with your pretty pregnant wife picture and update , I'm just sayin. and my husband was cool with the whole pregnancy but had a couple light headed and weak knee moments during the labor and delivery so i would maybe hold onto that paper bag for the duration.

and new shoes huh? NICE hope you decided to wear pants but come to think of it the slogans I have seen at stores is no shoes, no shirt no service So i guess pants could be considered optional.

Are those performance shoes or training shoes? They look effin' sweet!

shoes are weird looking (compared to traditional running shoes) but still appear light and cool.

I thought it was the wrong picture because the shoes are not green...but then I realized that I was thinking the color green. Sorta-fail.
