SCAPE Winner and Odds and Ends

First down to business. The winner of the $30 worth of Scape sunscreen is: CCJade23!!!! Normally this is where I tell a little bit about the winner and link to their blog. Unfortunately CCJade23 doesn’t have a blog that I can tell. So, please email me at TheBoringRunner (at) gmail.com and I’ll get your stuff right over to you! And if you do have a blog, you should update your blogger profile. I’ll read it – I promise To prove that I was totally legit, here is a screen cap of the spreadsheet that I used to capture all of the entries. I even gave people their due for multiple entries within the same comment.

  • This morning, when my alarm went off at 3:55am I SNAPPED out of bed. I’m not sure what the deal was, but I wasn’t the least bit tired. Of course, it all caught up to me when I was sitting on the plane while everyone was boarding. I caught myself with my head back and mouth WIDE open catching a few ZZZ’s more times than I’d like to admit. I didn’t snore because I didn’t hear it. That is the way that works, right? (No, I didn't take the picture to the right, I"m not THAT creepy...yet. Besides, if I did take the picture, he'd have a paper pirate hat on his head made out of the pages of the Skymall magazine)
  • Tomorrow afternoon I’m going to go on my first work related group run. A group of 5 or so (consulting – not client) guys/gals run 5-6 miles every Wednesday after work. The funny thing? Their pace is anywhere between 7:45 and 8:00 min miles! Jeeze, way to be elitist guys. They announced the running group at a recent all hands meeting and WONDER why no one else has joined them. Gosh, I wonder why….. It’ll be all I can do to keep up.
  • It may be the taper catching up to me, but whenever I get up early to travel I am always STARVING way too early. It is like I'm in a Taco Bell commercial and just have to get in that fourth meal they are always talking about. "Sure, Taco Bell, a massive bean burrito is exactly what I want to be eating at 11pm. Riiiiight"
  • Finally, this coming weekend in Phoenix, the forecast is scheduled to be 107 and 110. (actually it looks like they just bumped it down to 108.) Am I sad that I’ll be dipping my sore legs into the ocean while soaking in the 75 degree San Diego air while all the guys in PHX are trying to peel their man sack off their leg sweating bullets? No. Does it make me happy to brag to everyone I meet about getting to see the ocean? Yes.**

**Does it normally bug the shit out of me when people ask themselves questions that they answer THEMSELVES!? Yes.

Lucky you! If I were in such close proximity to the ocean, I would likely take a long run ending at the breakers and then jump in to cool off. It would be glorious.

Have fun!

Catching Z's in public is so embarrassing. I can't count the times that I've fallen asleep on a commuter train, only to wake up later and find myself drooling!

In high school I used Study Hall for "Nap Time" more than once. And I'm a PRO at sleeping on planes. Really just take Green Eggs and Ham...and change eating to sleeping I could/would do it.

Also, I actually like hearing the questions other people ask themselves. Does that mean I'm strange? Probably just easily amused.

Congrats ccjade23!

There is a running group in my neighborhood that I haven't run with yet. Why? They say their runs average a comfortable 7:00 to 7:30 pace each time. Uh, no thank you!
Hopefully you'll have a good group run experience. Wish more people ran where I work.

Congrats to the winner.
Lol, Thanks for making it known that you were not the creepy guy snapping photos of unsuspecting sleeping passengers because that is exactly what I was wondering, it would still have been funny if you were..weird,yes but amusing all the same.
I thought it got hot out here but 108 what the heck it is only the first week in June i don't even want to think about what July & August look like out your way.

Ahhhhh, love the ocean and I love San Diego...but I ran the RnR there a few years ago and um, I won't tell you the outcome, just in case that's the one you're running also....just be sure to drink a LOT of water!!

Yay for the RNR San Diego! It will be my first. It's pretty hot where I'm from but at least I'm in Cali so there are a ton of beaches relatively close.

3:55 am and wide awake? You are ready for a baby! Get used to it, you will sleep/(not)snore in public all the time, my friend : )

Elitist? Isn't it great working for "The Firm"? Glad to see some things just never change.

I be on the lookout for you in San Diego!

I am anxious to hear about the work run! That could be a lot of fun!

Ha ha. Yesterday, I asked a question and answered it myself with my husband right there. He said, "Guess you don't really need me here." Guess not!
