I'm Worried

First, if you haven't been tagged for the 10 random things post, you're tagged. Do it now. It is fun for blogger voyeurs like myself. *hint hint* Pam @ Thirty Schmirty *cough cough*

I'm in an interesting place right now. Just like Brit-Brit says, I feel like I'm not a girl, not yet a woman...or I guess as it relates to running, work, and life I suppose. Meaning, I'm in a bit of limbo.

I'm a bit out of running commission for a while. Whenever this happens, and it seems to happen about once a year, I promise myself that I'll hit the cross training hard. But, this time I've been having a hard time following through. That.stops.tonight. The plan: Biking 1.5 hours, possibly puking due to oxygen depletion, stretching, followed by the 1/2 bottle of wine that I received from the hotel. Life is good - and if it isn't good, I'll FORCE it to be good...with booze...and TV...and room service.

I've found that posting this stuff on my blog holds me accountable. Next goal: I will win the lottery. Make it happen blogosphere - I'm counting on you to hold me accountable.

I will admit though that I am a little bit worried about my foot. I've never had a foot injury and the only thing that I can think of is that it is some sort of stress fracture. I'm sure that it isn't, however there are a CRAP TON of bones in your foot / ankle and I'm not sure what to think. So, I'm just going to do exactly what a doctor would tell me to do and rest it. Nothing more I can do, right?

(Apologies ahead of time for this being vague) Work has been a bit interesting too. The work that I was originally brought on to do sort of evaporated. Priorities shifted, things are not as firm as we all thought they were, blah blah excuses excuses. So, that means that my Project Management skills have been directed to other projects. Not a big deal, but it just means that I have to get up to speed and learn a bunch of new things super fast. Fortunately, I have the multitasking abilities of a 13 year old playing Nintendo (or whatever the kids play now a days), so I just roll with the punches. Playing Super Mario Brothers while on the phone, following up with IMs, and listening to music? Oh yeah - got that covered.

But, that does mean that I am horribly behind (3+ days) on blogs. I will catch up tonight during the commercials of LOST. I know that quite a few of you out there put together some great runs this weekend because I read them on my phone while sitting on the can and I can't wait to read all about them.

I thought I had a stress fracture in my foot last year after the marathon. I had read however about foot exercises and they made all my troubles go away.

worth a shot. I've listed the ones I did below.

Puking and biking is a great way to stay in prime shape; puking uses some great core muscles!!

I didn't cross train when I was injured last summer and I totally regret it! I should have held myself more accountable on my blog... but I just didn't even feel like talking about it. Lame, right?

Good luck with the new projects at work :) And even more important, I hope your foot feels better soon!

Hi Adam,
Oh boy, I hope that your foot is okay...keep icing and stretching!

I am not surprised that you have mastered multitasking:) Just keep doing an awesome job at work and perhaps a promotion will knock at your door in the future!!

Have a good time tonight with the wine, the Lost episode and room service:)

Adam - you might want to check out this website. Pound on through your symptoms. It might help put you at ease. And then again, maybe not.

Trying to tag everyone who reads your blog is totally not going to work on me.

My ego needs a direct call out...

Hi Adam,
I got to your blog from a link at Julie's blog. I am disappointed at the lack of boredom here. You're posts are entertaining and the stuff in your "About Me" is pretty darn funny.
I'm sorry you're injured! I hope you get better soon. In the meantime, stick with the cross training. It'll help me stick with it too while I nurse my shins.
Have a good week at work.

I heard you were boring, why I would decide to follow you? You got me. Hopefully you prove yourself wrong.

Just watch a few episodes of Glee, that should make you forget about your foot. Careful though, too much will make you jump off of a bridge. Either way, no more foot troubles. HEAL brother Adam!

I don't know why, but that last sentence made me laugh out loud. Not just an LOL, but an actual laugh out loud.

Accountability. That's why I love blogging. I never would've run a frickin' marathon if it wasn't for the fact that I'd completely embarass myself for not following through.

I could ask my PT intern husband about your foot. Have him look at the picture, see what he says.

The Marriott Chocolate Chip Cheesecake probably goes quite nicely with LOST+ a red wine. Just Sayin'.
(Their Tiramisu is the pudding kind. That was a huge bummer when I discovered that.) Those are the only two desserts I ever tried there.

Hope your foot is NOT stress fractured. And heals quickly!

I hope the cross training goes well and a quick recovery for the foot. Work seems to always get in the way of out running and blogging.

Good luck on the lotto accountability!

I hope there is nothing serious with your foot. I would imagine you are starting to get a bit stir crazy by now.

Glad to hear your job is holding up, even with some changes. It could be much worse. :)

oh I wouldn't worry about that foot too much. I'm sure it's not a stress fracture...probably just a nasty case of gout from all that boozing you do.
and that's just gross about the toilet...I would NEVER think about firing up the old RSS hub while doing my business on the can...rrrriiiiight...never.
