Today's run was a much needed step back from the ever increasing weekly mileage. This week I ran a total of 20 miles which seems like a lot even though it was a step back week. I chose a rather hilly route which was downhill into the wind and uphill with the wind at my back. I really need to run that route more when that is the case! I didn't have any pain in any of my normal spots such as shins knees or the balls of me feet. I really am hoping that the increase in cross training is starting to help out.
The run overall was good, if not a bit (a lot) cold. My water bottles froze up AGAIN, this time so bad that I could never get them open. So, that means that they froze up within 25 minutes. This isn't TOO big of a deal since I wasn't sweating a ton while running - but if I knew that I wasn't going to be able to drink it, I sure as hell wouldn't have carried it! After all, I'm not a Sherpa. Now that I say that, having my own personal running assistant / fanny pack would be sort of fun. They could carry my water bottles, maybe some Gu, towels, strap a radio with speakers to their back... Send me an email if you would like to apply. The pay isn't good, but the working conditions are great (time with me!). I mean, if Kathy Griffin can have three personal assistants, I should be able to have one running assistant right? lol
Anyway, heart rate was a bit up from the previous long run. Probably because of the increased speed. I really need to get that under control!

Granted I don't have a fancy heart rate monitor, but my heart rate gets way up there as well. I'll do stairs for 10 minutes and it's racing above 190.
So i would like to apply to be your running assistant!!!
I will get good runs in while running with you and assisting you!! Am i hired!! Oh and i i will start when my toe is healed. OK??? :O)
Ohhh, that makes me feel a lot better Kelly. I was starting to worry that my heart was going to explode!
Holy cow, 8 degrees?? Brrrrrr!
Just found your blog...love the caption of the title. :-)
The 100 things list is cool...I'm not sure I could come up with 100 things!
Nice job with the run! And thanks for stopping by my blog a few times over the last week (I've been busy, so I haven't been able to reciprocate until now...)
To answer your question, I just run with my camera in my hand. It has a wrist strap, so I use that, and then just go. I don't bring it on "important" runs, but this cold race on Saturday called for a camera!!
